MRSA and School Closings

Overview

It is rarely necessary to close a school secondary to MRSA. Good hygiene will prevent the spread of MRSA. Good hygiene includes: 

• Frequent cleaning of high-touch areas. 
• Regular hand washing.
• Cover all cuts and scrapes.
• Cover all MRSA infections – see above “Can MY Child Attend School With MRSA?”
