Treatment for MRSA
The good news is most MRSA infections are treatable!
MRSA by definition is resistant to many antibiotics; however, there is a difference between MRSA found in our communities, and MRSA found in hospitals/healthcare settings.
- Community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA) is still treatable by a few oral antibiotics.
- Healthcare-associated MRSA (HA-MRSA) is resistant to most oral antibiotics, and IV antibiotics are usually required.
