MRSA Hospitalizations and Deaths

In the United States 90,000 persons are hospitalized each year in the United States with a serious MRSA infection, leading to approximately 15,000 deaths. It is estimated that 85% of these MRSA infections, and subsequent deaths, are secondary to HA-MRSA¹ 

HA-MRSA is MRSA found in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

MRSA Is All Too Common 

• MRSA bacteria are the cause of more than 50% of all skin infections that occur in our communities. 
• MRSA bacteria are the cause of 60% of all staph infections that occur in hospitals.
